The Frequency of Mandibular Third Molar Impaction in Different Types of Vertical Skeletal Faces
نویسندگان
چکیده
OBJECTIVE: To determine the frequency of mandibular third molar impaction in different vertical skeletal facial types. METHODOLOGY: Data was collected using pre-treatment records including orthodontic files, lateral cephalograms and OPGs 90 patients. Patients from both genders were included. The age group selected patients 18-30 years. Vertical malocclusion measured angle plane on cephalogram to subjects into Mesiofacial, Brachyfacial Dolichofacial Third eruption status assessed OPG. RESULTS: Results showed that erupted molars mostly found brachyfacial Among 32 molars, 16 belong brachyfacial, 11 belonged mesiofacial 5 dolichofacial group. Complete most common among 29 completely impacted 14 dolichofacial, 9 6 No significant difference for partially three groups There higher prevalence females as compared males. CONCLUSION: Frequency be highest lowest due forward direction growth contributing greater resorption anterior border ramus additional space required eruption.

متن کاملMandibular third molar space in different antero-posterior skeletal patterns.
Retromolar space has long been identified as a major factor in the aetiology of mandibular third molar impaction. The aims of this study were to compare mandibular third molar space between the different antero-posterior (A-P) skeletal patterns, between erupted and impacted third molars in the different A-P skeletal patterns, and to report on the status of third molar eruption/impaction among t...
